The Rotary Action Group for Family Health & AIDS Prevention, Inc. (RFHA), a global Action Group of Rotary club members and the mobilising partner of Rotary International, has appointed three accomplished global health leaders to its Board of Directors: Dr. Sophie Penney Leach, Siobhan Malon, and Dr. Robyn Eakle. Each brings extensive experience in global health, development, and philanthropy, strengthening RFHA’s mission to expand access to health services for underserved communities.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sophie, Siobhan, and Robyn to the RFHA Board,” said Brad Howard, Chair of RFHA. “Their collective expertise in fundraising, public health strategy, and global partnerships will be instrumental as we scale our programs and deepen our impact.”
Meet the new Board Members
Dr. Sophie Penney Leach
A leader in philanthropic strategy, Dr. Penney Leach is President of i5 Fundraising and has over 20 years’ experience across higher education and nonprofit sectors. As former Director of Foundation Relations at Penn State University, she led efforts that raised over $14 million in a single year. A committed Rotarian, Sophie brings a strong focus on equity, sustainability, and strategic collaboration.
Siobhan Malone
Siobhan Malone is a Senior Program Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where she manages global investments in HIV prevention and adolescent health. With more than 20 years in global health, she has worked closely with WHO, UNAIDS, and national ministries of health. Siobhan is trilingual (English, French, Spanish) and a vocal advocate for locally led, data-driven solutions that strengthen health systems.
Dr. Robyn Eakle
Dr. Eakle is a public health leader with over 15 years of experience in HIV prevention, implementation research, and global health programming. She has held senior roles with USAID and PEPFAR, advising on PrEP rollout across nearly 50 countries. Robyn holds a PhD in Public Health and Policy and is known for her expertise in translating research into practice and building strong global health alliances.
These appointments support RFHA’s strategic growth and its flagship initiative, Rotary Family Health Days, which delivers critical health services to millions of people across Africa and beyond.
