The quintessential “home” holiday is here. While Christmas has Santa and his gifts, Halloween has candies and there are fireworks on the Fourth of July, we all know it’s really Thanksgiving that brings people and communities together. It is a wonderful time to slow down and appreciate everything you are grateful for in life.
Give someone the Gift of Health
And while we all have a list of things to be grateful for – whether that is being able to enjoy the holidays with your family or a Saturday morning coffee with your favourite book - we can all agree that one of the most important things we are thankful for today, is having good health. As an old saying goes, ‘When you have your health, you have everything’. So, what could be a better gift to give this holiday season than giving someone the Gift of Health? Something that will be cherished forever.
For many, this will be a Thanksgiving holiday without proper medical care or any access to health facilities. There are many who have lost their loved ones to a deadly disease that could have been prevented if only they had access to healthcare. We, at Rotary Action Group for Family Health & AIDS Prevention are doing our best to ensure that preventive healthcare reaches all and that no one is left behind.
And we are extremely thankful that you have joined us on this journey.
Why you should include RFHA at your Thanksgiving Table
When you choose to donate to RFHA this Thanksgiving, you will be helping us to:
- take free preventive healthcare and education to communities that have no access to them;
- provide life-saving screenings including HIV/AIDS; Hepatitis A and B; Cancer, Diabetes and heart disease;
- provide vital life-saving immunizations including polio to thousands of children;
- go back to the communities that we have been unable to serve over the past few years due to the pandemic.
If you agree that access to healthcare should not be contingent on where people live and their ability to pay, then RFHA is your charity to give back to. Any small gift from you can help us provide a range of services to several communities, like polio drops to a child, mosquito nets for families and reading glasses for the elderly.
So, please consider including RFHA at your table this Thanksgiving.
